Here is the Luminea dinner menu for the first sea day.

We love the little amuse bouche each evening. This one was creamy goat cheese in a slightly sweet pastry shell with caviar.

Main lobster salad

Roasted squab

Jerusalem artichoke soup. This was exceptionally good. Silky smooth with an interesting flavor.

Beef tartar. Okay but not the best tartar we've had.

Alaskan halibut. Very nice flavor. Amelia's was perfect but Ross's was overcooked.

Cote de Boeuf. My beef, which I ordered medium rare, was so undercooked that it was cold in the center. I did not order a replacement because the waiter had already brought is a couple of other dishes to the table for us to sample so there was plenty of other food.

Pappardelle with venison ragu. This was probably the best dish of the night. The pasta was well cooked and the ragu was savory and meaty. Really excellent.

Cauliflower steak with curry yogurt sauce. This was surprisingly tasty. The curry was nice and mildly spicy (They almost never serve anything really spicy on a cruise). The raisins added a sweet counterpoint. Very good.

A selection of cookies and treats from a nice display the restaurant had set up. The waiter took Sweet Pea over to it and let her select a variety of things from it. She loved this!

Buttermilk Panna Cotta. A mistake. I did not care for this. The fruit accompaniment was fine but the panna cotta itself was very bland.

Chocolate palet. Despite how good it looks, it was sort of bland. It didn't have much chocolate flavor.

I think this was marscapone cheesecake, but it sure doesn't look like a typical cheesecake. In any case, Poppy had this and really liked it. The best dessert of the night.
