Sea Day 2 - Lunch at Sushi on 5

Poppy wanted another hamburger for lunch, so he went by himself to Luminae while the rest of us headed to another Specialty Restaurant. This one is called Sushi on 5 and not surprisingly, it sells sushi and is located on deck 5. You have to pay a la cart for the sushi, but we thought w writhing was delicious. It's a great idea for a specialty restaurant.

The menu:

Sushi on 5 sells my favorite cocktail ever, a spicy mango martini. It is sweet and spicy with a great smooth texture due to the mango. Yummy!

We ordered some seafood dumplings which were just okay.

Mimi didn't think she would want any sushi so she ordered a bowl of udon noodle soup. She liked this a lot.

We decided to go all out and ordered the "fresh wasabi grated table side".

After grating the fresh wasabi root on a special rough paddle, our server scraped it into a bowl for us.
We had never had fresh wasabi before and really enjoyed it. We thought it had a fresher and less spicy flavor than the usual reconstituted kind.

We ordered 3 rolls: Shrimp Tempura, Eel Dragon and Alaskan California. They were fantastic. The fish (shrimp, eel and crab) are cooked in these particular rolls so even Sweet Pea could eat them. It turned out that Mimi loved them too. (We ate some before I remembered to take a picture.)

We didn't have any, but they had quite a sake collection too.

After lunch we played a Motown trivia game. The host wools play a clip of music and we had to name the song and artist. Even though we didn't do very well, it was super fun to hear clips of the songs.

We also played our regular afternoon general trivia game and then hung out at Micheal's club for a while before dinner.
