It was only about a 10 minute ride before we arrived at the pier. We moved quickly through security and registration. There was a small shop set up outside the boat selling lanyards for our sea pass cards and we were totally suckered in when found a Green Bay Packers one for Poppy.
We entered the ship and found it mostly empty. There were no crew members directing us and no one handing out welcome glasses of champagne like we had received on all our previous cruises. If Ross and I had not been on a Celebrity cruise before, we would have been totally lost.
Ross led our group to Micheal's club and everyone relaxed for a bit while I tried to straighten out a problem with an excursion. For some reason, I had been unable to buy a ticket for Amelia to a "Chef's Market Tour" excursion in Cozumel despite the fact that there was no age restriction. The excellent concierge, Jole, said she would work on it and get back to me.
It was lunchtime so we headed to our designated dining room, Luminea.

Sweet Pea and Mimi ordered lobster bisque which was a amazing.

I had a tasty little tomatoes and goat cheese salad.

Ross ordered tuna sashimi, which was a delicious light choice.

For our main course, poppy and Ross had the signature Luminea hamburger and I will say that it lived up to the hype. It was juicy and flavorful. Seasoned perfectly. Wow. Just wow.

I had a duck confit club sandwich which was okay, but would have been better if I wasn't watching Ross eat his perfect hamburger. Lol.

Mimi ordered chicken and waffles which was good.

Amelia had

For dessert, Ross got an olive oil cremeaux pudding which was okay.

The rest of us ordered macadamia cake. I thought it was odd. The top layer, which looked like ganache, but was instead a sort of chocolate jello. It was very firm, like a gummy bear with an almost burnt flavor that was only mildly reminiscent of chocolate. There was a good creamy middle layer with some sweet crunchy macadamia nuts bow it, the very bottom pasty was bland and soft. Maybe that was the "cake"? It just didn't work for me.
The pistachio ice cream that came with it was out of this world though. It had a really rich nutty flavor that was almost savory.

We briefly wandered around the ship after lunch, but Mimi and Sweet Pea were getting mighty sleepy.

Amelia was about to fall over from exhaustion because she had taken a children's dramamine. Mimi was also really drowsy because she had taken Bomine (a other type of sea sickness medication) the night before and then again this morning. She had been really worried that she would get sea sick (which had been a problem for her on previous cruises). Well she wasn't sea sick at all today, but she couldn't keep her eyes open.
Luckily our rooms became available so Mimi and Sweet Pea didn't have to lay down in the hallway. They went into Mimi's room and both immediately fell asleep on the couch.

(we are in the middle of the ocean and the internet is really slow. It's very hard to post anything right now.)
